Welcome Willow Glen Families!

My name is Mrs. Skenandore and I am one of the Kindergarten teachers at Willow Glen Primary School. Willow Glen has been my home away from home since 2014.  Our school is full of students, families, and staff that are inquisitive, caring, supportive, and devoted to learning.  I wouldn't want it to be any other way!

Since reading is such an integral part of learning, I wanted to make sure that I could support my students as best I can in learning how to read.  Therefore, I pursued my interest in how children learn how to read and completed my Master of Arts degree in Reading in May of 2019 from Alverno College.  Prior to that, I attended Alverno College and graduated in 2014 with my degree in Elementary Education. 

In my free time, I enjoy being with my family by spending time outside, playing board games, and watching movies.  I also enjoy reading books, baking, and cheering on the Packers!

As an educator, my goal is to create a safe and supportive learning environment that will nurture every child to become a successful and confident student.  In Kindergarten, students will be engaged in many hands-on learning experiences that are meaningful to their lives and the world around them.  Students will work both independently and in small groups.  I look forward to watching all of my students become strong readers, writers, mathematicians, and cooperative learners.
